My Photography Journey

For 52 years, I've been immersed in the art of making images. From developing and printing in darkrooms to embracing the digital age, my journey has shaped my unique approach to Fine Art photography. Each photograph is a culmination of experience and a deep connection to the landscape.

My image making in black & white and started using a Russian Zorki 4K camera over 50 years ago. I now use four different cameras including Olympus Pen-F, and recently the hassablad X2D 100c camera.

My Vision

My vision and passion of the landscape shines through every photograph I take. It's about capturing the beauty and essence of the Irish countryside, and sharing that with you. Welcome to my world of Fine Art photography.

Explore Your County

My hope is that my work inspires you to go out and explore the landscapes in your county. There's beauty all around us, waiting to be discovered and captured. Let's appreciate and preserve the natural wonders of County Tipperary,  Ireland together.

About Hugh O'Donnell

Hugh O'Donnell is a Fine Art photographer based in Golden, County Tipperary, Ireland. With over 52 years of experience, Hugh's work showcases the beauty and essence of the Irish landscape. His passion and vision are evident in every image he creates.

His work started on the streets of Liverpool documenting the inner city where he lived.

He has resided in County Tipperary for the last 33 years and has slowly explored the County with the same curiosity with the camera as when he explored the inner city of Liverpool 52 years ago.

Going off the beaten track, and exploring places that have been lost or forgotten. This has organically developed into combining Folklore stories with the Fine Art images of the places he has visited, which have a residual feel of placed lived and worked.

"Hugh O'Donnell's photographs capture the soul of County Tipperary, Ireland. His work is a testament to the beauty that surrounds us."
